Support
Since December 15, 2020, a request for prior agreement is necessary for each prescription, both for the initiation of treatment and for a renewal. This is carried out through the Health Insurance medical service.
By electronic means:
- the prescriber requests prior approval online via his Amelipro account;
- if the conditions giving right to support are met, agreement is given immediately;
- otherwise, the request is automatically transmitted to the medical service for advice.
By paper form:
-- a request for prior approval must be sent to the medical service, with the exception of part 3 of the form, which must be kept by the patient for delivery. When the Health Insurance medical service is contacted, it has 15 days from the date of receipt of the request to make a decision. The absence of a response within this period constitutes agreement.
Pending the decision or in the event of refusal by the Health Insurance medical service, the words “Non-refundable” must appear on the prescription with the patient’s agreement.
Prescription
Prescribing must no longer be carried out on a four-part exception order.
The prescription from the teleservice mentioning the coverage agreement or part 3 of the paper form accompanied by the Health Insurance coverage certificate constitutes a prescription for an exceptional medication.
