“Thank you for this attention which I did not expect. Know that I love what I do”, declared Pascale Morice with tears in her eyes, the head of the town’s library managed by the Bernis cultural association.
The latter organized, Wednesday December 4 at 7 p.m., its general meeting at the house of associations in the presence of around thirty people and three municipal elected officials (Jean-Paul Klein, Fideline Sébileau and Marypierre Guerin). It was therefore at the end of this meeting that President Janine Roure gave a gift to the employee of this reading place to underline her professional commitment which has lasted for twenty years.
A little earlier, Pascale Morice had taken stock of her activity. She thanked the volunteers who help her on a daily basis in welcoming the public: schoolchildren (nurseries, nursery schools and primary schools) and young parents. “The computerization of works is progressing well, we are at 85%”, detailed the professional.
He has 1,063 works left to register. She said she purchased 44 novels and 132 children’s books.
Diversity of proposals
An assessment of the other activities of the association was made. The choir distinguished itself by performing for Provençal masses in Bernis but also in Milhaud and Uchaud.
She will take part this Saturday, December 14 in Bernis for the Christmas mulled wine festivities. She calls for singers.
The association was also involved in the Pink October operation with the creation of heart cushions for 45 people. Two thousand knots were made. For Halloween, the association offered a musical performance to nursery and primary school students.
Finally, Véronique Verdeil spoke about her work as a facilitator of computer, sewing and stained glass discovery workshops. The association’s accounts were presented by the treasurer, Jocelyne Fache.
It was decided to increase the annual contribution from 10 to 15 € (effective from September 2025). To date, 45 people or families are members of the association.
