For several months, the social network Tik Tok has been flooded with videos, mostly of young girls, but also of young athletic men, showing themselves with different products to… gain weight. At low prices, yes, but not without health risks.

As a teenager, Agathe was very thin. And it wasn’t for lack of eating. Every day, she had her share of thoughts: “But you’re anorexic.”, “i would like to give you my fat”. She hid under baggy t-shirts, avoided swimming lessons, stuffed her bra with cotton wool and wore two pairs of jeans one on top of the other to thicken her thighs and avoid comments about her thinness. Finally, when she returned from the summer of her 16th birthday, she came back transformed. Her body had changed, and life had immediately taken on a different taste. That of tranquility. But Agathe grew up in the 2000s, without a smartphone. Today, when we talk to her about the videos on social networks that recommend that young people divert medication to “grow their buttocks bigger”, she admits: “If I had known about this at the time, maybe I would have taken some, yes.”.
