The Christmas nativity scene is installed, for the 18th year, in the St-Etienne church. It is the work of Romain Rodriguez, a passionate, recognized and certified santon maker and crech maker who will welcome visitors from this Saturday, November 23.

His vocation was born at the age of eight, when Romain decided to decorate the family nursery himself. Over time, his creation grew and attracted many visitors from the neighborhood. As a young adult, Romain was then invited to set up his crèche in the village church. Initially modest, it has expanded over the years to now occupy more than 100 m², becoming the largest church nativity scene in .

Several thousand visitors, often from far away, arrive each year to admire this unique creation which is constantly renewed, telling new stories.

Among the highlights to remember this year, Bishop Nicolas Brouwet will bless the nativity scene on November 26 at 5:30 p.m., after vespers at 5 p.m.

The scenography of the crèche offers a magical winter journey, under a luminous starry sky, offering visitors a soft and snowy atmosphere. Roman explained. Rural traditions are also present, as well as scenes representing emblematic places. “I listened to the public and took their preferences into account by including favorite scenes, such as the Pont du and the Gardon, with real water passing under the bridge this year thanks to a technical arrangement. In addition to the nativity scene, the entire church is decked out in Christmas colors, trees have been installed and decorations made with the artistic sensitivity of Romain Rodriguez.

The church will open its doors to visitors to the nursery until January 26, every Saturday and Sunday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. During school holidays, visits can be made daily, from 2 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. and on Christmas Day from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
