Le Bon Coin and its announcements: zoom! This general classified ads site in France was launched in 2006. It is a platform where individuals and professionals can sell, buy or exchange objects, vehicles, real estate and even services. The simplicity of the site allows millions of users to post ads in just a few clicks, resulting in a wide variety of offers, from the most classic to the most unexpected. Thus, each user can give free rein to their creativity or sense of humor in the way they present their items for sale. And sometimes, certain announcements take a completely crazy turn, to the delight of Internet users!
Some ads are so offbeat that they go viral. Among the most “folkloric” ads spotted over the years, we can find objects sold with surreal descriptions. For example, an Internet user was selling “a glass window” (without the “e” in the window). Others explicitly play with humor, like this seller who offered a Honda brand motorcycle Rebel CMX500s 2021 model with this description: “Indeed, as Arnold Schwarzenegger said in Terminator: “John Connor, it’s time.” Time to equip yourself with this Rebel and show the world that you too are at odds with society.”… Quite a program!
