Wednesday 13th, it’s time for the peï kids, with the Mini Run Océan. From 7 to 18 years old, daring young people from nautical clubs will meet for a kayaking, running and swimming triathlon around the Port of Saint-Gilles at 3 p.m.
Friday, November 15, the Beach Race for teams of four is planned, followed by a parade and the tenants’ evening.
Saturday, the Downwind World Cup race will be held between PEI and international athletes.
To conclude this week, this Sunday, November 17, the V6 Pirogue Challenge – Short Race Event will take place before the prize giving ceremony.
Please note that Ocean Racing is a discipline of kayaking and canoeing in the open sea. The rowers, in symbiosis with the sea, know how to benefit from the marine elements: wind, swell and current to go as quickly as possible to the finish . They can reach speeds of up to 20 km/h while surfing with their paddle on their knees.
