« Cancer does not only affect others, we are all affected, from youth to old age, directly or indirectly. », underline Colette and Jean-Jacques Benoit, Armelle Tual and Véronique Sander, all four members of the League against cancer.
This is how this quartet decided to organize the eleventh Soup Festival, which will take place on Sunday.
“There you can enjoy succulent soups made by our eleven soup chefs, including three men, and eat with quiches, pizzas, crepes… and homemade pastries. After your tasting, you will be able to vote for the best soup of 2024 (end of voting around 4 p.m.). All the suppers will receive a reward at the end of the afternoon”, explains Colette Benoit, one of the kingpins.
To enhance the day, volunteer musicians will provide the show: Marie-Louise, Jean-Jacques and Jean will perform various and varied tunes, while DJ Xavier will make you dance a few steps to Breton music.
This year, in addition to the usual partners (pastry shops of La Roche-Bernard and Nivillac, Marzan equipment association), new partners (traders and craftsmen from the town) have joined the ranks. “They came to join us to join forces with us to fight against this disease that is cancer, by providing us with their material or financial contribution and thus supporting us in our organization. Thus, thanks to our eleven soup makers and all our volunteers, may the small drop of water that will be collected during this day be able to help the sick,” hopes Colette.
The profit from the winnings collected during this event will be donated to the Morbihan Cancer League. A bowl of soup: €2; 5 bowls of different soups: €8.
Sunday 17, in the multipurpose room, from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. From 11 a.m., this event will be open to the public of all ages. Free entry.
