A worrying return. A case ofavian influenza highly pathogenic (HPAI) has been detected in recent hours in a domestic poultry farm in Saint-Étienne-d’Orthein the south of the department. According to our information, it would bea duck farm.

As soon as the case was proven, the Landes prefecture issued an order to put in place protection and surveillance measures. Several municipalities are affected and will have to adapt to these measures.

For the protection zone (within a radius of 3 km around the outbreak), “the confinement of poultry and other captive birds is now obligatory as is the immediate declaration of any mortality or symptom suggestive of HPAI” indicates the decree.

Moreover, any entry or exit of birds from or to farms located within the regulated area is subject to authorization authorities. ” THE movements or transport of poultry and other captive birds are prohibited in and from or to the areas.

As a reminder, the second waterfowl vaccination campaign has been underway since October 1.
