Suffering from breast cancer, a 40-year-old woman testifies to her recovery

A 40-year-old woman with early-stage breast cancer testified this Thursday, October 31, about her recovery. She shared her experience on the sidelines of the Pink October campaign, dedicated to raising awareness of breast cancer in the global community.
This cancer survivor, resident of Lubumbashi, in Haut-Katanga, explains the journey of her illness.
“I had excruciating pain in my right breast. I noticed that I had a lump in my breast that kept growing and was too hard. I went to the hospital where I was taken care of by a doctor who recommended a pile of tests to do. It is, among other things, ultrasound, anapath, mammography and breast micro-biopsy so that we know what was going on,” says the forty-year-old who requested anonymity.
Fortunately for her the disease was detected. Surgery was recommended. She underwent surgery and recovered.
“And since then I have been doing very well and everything is going well,” says the young woman.
She calls on other women to get tested in time for good care:
“I can simply tell women who are suffering and who notice that they have pain in their breasts, to get tested quickly because the earlier it is done, the more it can be treated. This mass can be treated so they will have solutions,” she advises other women.

During this breast cancer awareness campaign, several structures fighting this disease organized sessions in various locations across the city of Lubumbashi and the country. Some hospitals
