From June 4 to 15, 2024, CCMO Mutuelle raises awareness among the general public about hearing health

CCMO Mutuelle’s Essential Health Prevention Tour returns in June. The objective of this 13th edition is to prevent hearing problems. From June 4 to June 15, 2024, the Essentiel Hearing Tour bus will stop in 10 towns in Hauts-de-France and Normandy. On board a specially designed bus, a hearing care professional provides personalized appointments, performs hearing tests and answers participants’ questions. A prevention workshop is also offered by CCMO Mutuelle, in 3 towns in the Tour, in Beauvais, Amiens and Compiègne. This awareness-raising operation is free and open to the general public.

Hearing health: raising awareness among the general public for better prevention

According to the WHO, a quarter of the population will suffer from hearing loss in 2050 and 1.1 billion young people are currently at risk of hearing loss. Inserm notes that 65% of those aged 65 and over are affected by deafness and, according to the IFOP, 20 million French people suffer from tinnitus. 1

Still according to the IFOP, communication from health professionals, associations and public authorities on the issues of tinnitus is “far from sufficient”.2

These figures underline the importance of awareness, early detection and treatment of hearing disorders. It is with this objective that CCMO Mutuelle wishes to raise awareness among the general public and thus continue its prevention action around hearing health, for the third consecutive year.

Free advice on board the converted bus

From June 4 to 15, 2024, the public is invited to board the CCMO Mutuelle bus. From 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., a hearing care professional receives participants individually for personalized interviews during which he performs a hearing test, provides advice and refers them to an ENT doctor if necessary. A hearing screening terminal and self-massage chairs are accessible to everyone. Advice sheets and information brochures are made available.

Mutual advisors also answer questions from participants.

This year, the CCMO bus is making a stop in ten towns in Hauts-de-France and Normandy:

Tinnitus workshops offered in 3 Tour cities
