Cellulite: causes & natural remedies

This Tuesday, Charlotte Jacquet dissects cellulite. As a reminder, it is an accumulation of fat, water and toxins under the skin. This forms nodules which give the appearance of orange peel. It is often linked to genetic, hormonal and lifestyle factors. Its elimination can be difficult because it requires a holistic approach, acting on both the aesthetic aspect and the root causes.

How to reduce cellulite naturally?

First pillar as often: food. It is important to follow some basic tips. So, avoid processed foods and foods high in sugar, which promote inflammation and the accumulation of toxins. Instead, choose fresh fruits and vegetables, rich in antioxidants, as well as lean proteins and good fats.
Furthermore, several nutrients play a key role in the fight against cellulite. Vitamin C, flavonoids, omega-3 fatty acids, magnesium and antioxidants are particularly important. Indeed, they help strengthen connective tissues, improve blood and lymphatic circulation, and reduce inflammation.

Plants to the rescue

Before getting to the heart of the matter, a quick reminder: always seek the advice of a health professional before using medicinal plants.
Several plants promote better blood and lymphatic circulation by increasing the resistance of your capillary network: red vine, holly, witch hazel, sweet clover, prickly broom, horse chestnut and hazel.
Others will increase thermogenesis (heat production in the body which will promote an increase in cellular metabolism and accelerate fat loss) such as green tea leaves, Guarana seeds and mate leaves.
Finally, to drain the skin tissues, rely on the flowering tops of meadowsweet, pilosella, birch leaves, lemongrass, horsetail, orthosiphon leaves, wild pansy, elderflowers, burdock.
You can drink a therapeutic herbal tea by having a mixture of these three types of plants made in herbalism.

Aromatherapy is also a great ally

Charlotte Jacquet offers you a synergy based on anti-cellulite essential oils. Simply melt 20g of shea butter in a bain-marie. Leave to cool, then transfer to your pot and add:
30 drops of Ho wood essential oil (firming)
30 drops of palmarosa essential oil (unclogged)
30 drops of Criste Marine essential oil (promotes fat elimination)
30 drops of Lemongrass essential oil (detox + drainage)
Mix, then let your pot cool in the refrigerator. Your synergy is ready to be applied. Apply a small amount of the mixture to the most affected areas (thighs, hips, buttocks) by massaging in a rolling, palpating mode and allowing the mixture to penetrate well. Perform this massage twice a day morning and evening for 3 weeks. Take a break for a week and start again in 3 weeks.
This synergy should not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding. If in doubt, seek advice from your doctor or pharmacist.
