Columérins crossing Place Alex-Raymond at night may have noticed: the walls of the town hall turn pink at night, when the public lighting comes on. In addition to the decorative aspect of the monument, the town hall decided on this lighting color because of Pink October. Partner of this operation, aimed at raising awareness of breast cancer screening and raising funds for research, the Colomiers town hall also wishes to symbolically mobilize the Columérins. “It is the responsibility of public action and all local stakeholders to work hand in hand to inform widely about the solutions implemented in our territories,” declares Karine Traval-Michelet on this subject. The mayor reiterates the city’s commitment on this subject. “I hope that the town hall of Colomiers will mobilize strongly alongside the associations and health professionals who work on the ground on a daily basis.”
In addition to political action and visual symbols, the city’s associations also contribute to Pink October. Thus, the US Colomiers omnisports is organizing a flower sale on the market next Saturday for the benefit of the Oncopole of Toulouse.
