Can we really heal ourselves with plants? Is drinking herbal tea effective? Answers in Capital Santé with Caroline Fontenoy and Delphine Koniarski, herbalist, psychologist, naturopath and reflexologist

Delphine Koniarski is a herbalist, but also a psychologist, naturopath and reflexologist. To treat her patients, she uses an ancestral method: the use of plants.

“Previously, everyone treated themselves with plants and then science evolved and they entered the laboratories. We were able to isolate molecules and make medicines from these plants” explains Delphine Koniarski, herbalist, psychologist, naturopath and reflexologist.

She claims that even today “many people want to heal naturally”and this kind of therapys “now coexists with more traditional treatments”.

To treat her clients, Delphine Koniarski grows most of it in her garden and when she doesn’t know, she goes to get some from her relatives. “The idea is that they are local plants because I am really certain that we can heal ourselves with plants in the environment in which we live” she says.

Among those she uses the most, Delphike Koniarski talks about the peppermint. According to her, it can be used “when you have stomach cramps or when you have bad breath”. She claims that this plant will also help speed up the liver, by promoting the production of bile and its evacuation.

To boost your immunity with the arrival of autumn, she advises taking thymea herb “antiseptic and antiviral”. “From one year old, we can give it to children, even if the quantities are not the same. she said.

Concerning the nervous system and digestive disorders, Delphine Koniarski recommends melissaalso called lemon balm. “For people who have reflux, at the same time, people who are very stressed, so they could take it in the evening before going to bed”this plant would therefore be effective.
