Tunisia – Bronchiolitis: Several cases hospitalized in children’s hospital

The head of the emergency department of the Al-Bachir Hamza children’s hospital in Bab Saadoun, Zahra Fitouri, confirmed, in a statement to the press on Sunday, that infants infected with the bronchiolitis virus began arriving at the hospital. Bab Saadoun emergency department, and have been hospitalized since mid-September.

She added that this virus infects the bronchioles of infants, causing shortness of breath, pointing out that the emergency department of the aforementioned hospital receives about 250 emergency cases every day, most of which involve infants infected with bronchiolitis.

The head of the emergency department called for the need to prevent infection of infants with the bronchiolitis virus. She stressed the need to distance yourself, not kiss infants and not take them to crowded places, or smoke near them, in addition to providing breastfeeding, which protects against viruses.
