Originally from southern California, Tiger Woods is closely following developments in the Los Angeles region, where fires continue to spread with casualties and considerable damage.

If the host of the Genesis Invitational did not really confirm that the question of postponing the tournament, scheduled for next month in Pacific Palisades, arose, he obviously reacted by posting a message on his social networks.

“The devastation caused by the fires in Los Angeles is a true tragedy, being from California, it touches me personally. My heart goes out to those who have suffered unimaginable losses. Thank you to the incredible heroes who are first responders and help contain and save the Los Angeles community.
We plan to provide information about our own charitable efforts to help these communities in the coming weeks. Stay strong LA!” wrote Tiger Woods.

On the sidelines of the 2nd day of the TGL to which other Californians, Max Homa, Collin Morikawa et Sahith Theegala took part, the Tiger declared “that there are so many other things that are more important than holding the tournament.”

“It’s just sad, Max and I grew up there. We're Southern California kids. I know a few people who lost everything, so it’s just hard.”

The Riviera Country Clubsite of the Genesis Invitation, the 3rd Signature Event scheduled to take place February 13-16, has so far suffered no damage, but all around the situation is dire and the landscape apocalyptic.
