A high school freshman and top-ranked golfer of his generation, Blades Brown announced Tuesday that he will rescind his amateur status and turn professional.

In a long message on Instagram, Blades Brown said he would not get a taste of college and would make his debut on the PGA Tour in theAmerican Express in La Quinta, California, in January.

“I am ready to begin the next chapter of my golf career and will be competing professionally in 2025,” he wrote.

“It’s not a decision I make without thinking. I have spent the last few months weighing all possible options before deciding what I know is best for me. Although I am proud of the achievements of my amateur career, I am focused on the future and want to start my professional career well. »

The Nashville, Tennessee native joined Tiger Woods et Bobby Clampett last summer by becoming the first player since these two great champions to win a medal in theUS Amateur and theUS Junior.

We have already had the opportunity to mention Brown’s name since he finished in the top 30, at Myrtle Beach Classic last May.

According to our information, the organizers of the AMEX are not the only ones to have promised sponsor invitations to the young man in 2025. We should therefore find him at the start of several tournaments next year.
