Thanks to its unique design signed by artificial intelligence, the new version of this great classic, a precursor in its time, is announced as the most tolerant driver ever designed by Cleveland . It will be available in a Lite version, just like the woods and Hy-Wood Halo XL.

Cleveland Golf announced the return of one of its most iconic designs. As a reminder, the brand hit the headlines with the first drivers HiBore by adopting a unique geometry and developing innovations that many other manufacturers subsequently adopted. The goal? Move the center of gravity downward and to the back of the head, and thus gain tolerance.

By leveraging HiBore's unique philosophy (…) we have been able to achieve previously unattainable levels of forgiveness and distance

Using artificial intelligence (AI) simulation, Cleveland Golf engineers created the triangular shape of the HiBore XLwhich the brand describes as revolutionary, with the aim of placing the weight low and deep and helping to support the XL face. 19% wider than the brand's previous driver, the latter results in a larger “sweet spot” and consequently, off-center hits are less penalized.

“As our R&D research evolved and our simulation capabilities with AI progressed, we realized that eliminating the constraints linked to the shape of a “traditional” driver would open up new interesting perspectives in terms of performance”explain Joe MillerEurope Product Manager at Cleveland Golf. “By leveraging the unique philosophy of HiBorewhich consists of prioritizing performance, we have been able to achieve levels of tolerance and distance previously unattainable. But there is an essential difference between the new model and the previous one. The sound is also excellent! “.

Since the first driver HiBore Until today, most drivers incorporate internal ribs to control the sound they produce. On this new version, the triangular shape works in concert with the increased rigidity of the sole and crown to reduce vibrations and improve noise on impact.

One of the main advances in this range, which its predecessors did not benefit from, is the improvement of setting options. The HiBore XL driver features a 12 gram weight on the back of the club, allowing players to customize the swingweight to suit their preferences. Furthermore, both versions of HiBore XL (HiBore XL and the HiBore XL Lite) feature the new Cleveland Golf hosel that is one and a half degrees adjustable, providing even more options for adjusting the driver's loft, face and launch angles.

Lite clubs for players with moderate swing speeds

The HiBore XL Lite is offered for amateur golfers looking to limit their tendency to slice and increase clubhead speed. Built with the same design and technological features as its big brother, the HiBore XL Lite is an ultralight option with a slight draw effect. Even with weight concentrated in the heel, the moment of inertia (MOI, synonymous with forgiveness) and ball speed are optimized thanks to the MainFrame XLa variable thickness face designed with AI and appeared on the latest models Launcher.

Cleveland also took the opportunity to announce the release of other clubs in Lite: a variation of fairway wood and Hy-Wood Halo XLreleased at the beginning of the year. The latter will also be offered in two new lofts: 5+ and 6+.

HiBore XL drivers will be available in stores from December 6, 2024fairway woods and Hy-Wood Halo XL Lite from February 22. You will have to pay 419 € for a HiBore XL or XL Lite driver, 279 € for a Halo XL Lite fairway wood and 269 € for a Hy-Wood.
