He was not the first on the podium of the project competition for the participatory budgetset up by the City of Pléneuf-Val-André in February. An initiative to “bring out ideas and allow citizens to get involved by proposing projects of general interest”.
Nine projects had thus been submitted, including four eligible with regard to the regulations and the joint analysis of the town hall services and the ad hoc commission: a street sky, the naming of the streets according to the names of Pleneuvian women who counted, a mini golf and an urban space for cultural and artistic expression.
Not the winner
It is this last project which obtained the greatest number of votes during the vote of the inhabitants which took place during the summer.
Out of 391 voters, 244 votes went to this space.outdoor exhibitionas there are for example in Erquy: often, photographs are exhibited in the alleys where the device is installed. Very popular outdoor exhibitions.
Mini golf came second. But the town hall decided:
Considering the very close results, both in number of votes and in number of points obtained between these two projects and given the enthusiasm generated by the mini golf project, the local and participatory democracy commission considered that it made sense , for the general interest, to retain the two projects.
In Dahouët
The new mini golf course should therefore see the light of day before the 2025 summer season, near the Dahouët lake. When the project was presented before the summer, it was indicated that the activity could thus be managed by the manager of the miniature port.
If mini golf is a project that was close to the hearts of the Pléneuvians, it is because they remember the famous minigolf du casinowhich stood facing the sea, on the current Place des Régates, from the 1950s.
Le minigolf du casino
Yves Douard, passionate about the history of the town, has a poster of promotion of the seaside resort of 1952 where “miniature golf” is cited, among the assets that were already at the time “its ideal fine sand beach, fishing, casino, shady park…”
It was the casino that originally built the mini golf course.
A flowery, grassy space, very busy at the time.
At the end of the 80s, the casino wanted to shed its activity. Maintaining the space in particular is heavy to bear.
“The municipality took over the activity and the paths were quickly paved,” recalls the historian.
30 years later
Unfortunately, mini golf will close permanently in 1994.
And a new one will reopen in 2025! Thank you to the Pleneuvians who suggested the idea!
The town hall also reminds that “to allow the inhabitants of the town to propose new ideasa new call for projects Participatory budget will be launched in 2025 with the aim of carrying out the winning project(s) before the 2026 summer season.
