“I’m in survival mode”, Matthieu Pavon tired before the French Open

“How do you feel before this French Open?
I feel good but tired. I didn’t really have time to breathe after this trying season on the American circuit. I’m more in survival mode than competition at the end of the year. After the Tour Championship (the final of the American circuit), the pressure eased. It’s been a year full of emotions. I should have taken some time to rest but I didn’t have time to relax and I went through a series of tournaments since Wentworth. There is overall fatigue, more mental than physical. In other years, I played a maximum of one Major per year, the US Open. This year I played four, plus big PGA Tour tournaments and the US Tour Finals. It’s like playing eight to ten Majors in a year. In terms of concentration, course difficulty and intensity, it is a notch above what I had experienced in previous years.
