Texan Jordan Spieth has returned to training for a month and is playing pain-free after wrist surgery. He announced that he planned to return to competition within a few days.

Jordan Spieth fans rest assured, the three-time major winner who underwent wrist surgery this fall will make his return at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.

He will thus end his longest period without competition.

“I had very bad habits for a long time because my wrist prevented me from doing certain things”Spieth said in a telephone interview with The Associated Press.

He first injured his wrist in May 2023 when his extensor tendon came out of its sheath. And on August 21 in Colorado he decided to have surgery.

Still a few fears

12 weeks of patience were then necessary before being able to hit balls again. A month later he was finally able to play an 18-hole course. Asked what this operation could change in his swing, the American replied:

“It’s not changes in my swing. It’s just a reset of some of the things that I was doing that were part of my DNA, that were super beneficial and that I had gotten away from for one reason or another.”

On the way to the Trinity Forest course in Dallas, he still admits to being a little apprehensive about certain shots. Especially when he has to play a ball buried in the rough. But he feels relieved that he no longer feels pain when the club makes contact with the turf.

A little more than five months after his last competition he will be at Pebble Beach. This for the 40th year of the partnership with the telecommunications company AT&T which is also a sponsor of the American.
