The immense Australian champion, seven times victorious in Majors, resident of the famous Hall of Fame since June 2005, accepted with great pride the R&A's proposal to become an honorary member of the prestigious institution. In this respect, she joins other illustrious players such as Dame Laura Davies, Catriona Matthew, Belle Robertson and Annika Sörenstam.*
For golf aficionados, and there are many of them, the entrance to Karrie Webb in the Holy of Holies as an honorary member is well deserved. The Australian, who turns 50 on December 21, has an impressive track record.
Among her 57 professional victories, she recorded seven successes in Majors, achieving the feat of winning in the five Grand Slam tournaments at the time (Nabisco (From now on Chevron), Women’s PGA Championship, US Women’s Open, Du Maurier Classic et Women’s British Open). Named rookie of the year in 1995 on the Ladies European Tourshe did it again the following year, this time on the LPGA Tourfinishing at the top of the money list and then becoming the first LPGA player to earn $1 million in a season.

Dedicated to charitable work, Webb founded the Karrie Webb Series as well as scholarships alongside Golf Australia. Every year, she mentors the two best Australian amateur players. Among his former “proteges” are: Minjee Lee et Hannah Greenwho both subsequently won at Majors.
Officer of the Order of Australia
Rightly considered one of the greatest Australian golfers in history, both men and women, equal to Peter Thomson and others Greg NormanKarrie Webb received the 2000 Dawn Fraser Awardthe highest honor in Australian sport. In 2010, she was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia for services to golf and the community as a benefactor and supporter of a range of health and disability organisations. In 2018, she was appointed an Officer of the Order of Australia for distinguished service to golf as an elite-level player, to the development of women golfers, as a mentor and role model, and through charitable and community organizations.
