From Thursday December 6 to Sunday December 10, Mauritius will host the 13th edition of the MCB Tour Championship, the final stage of the Golf legends tournament. Here's everything you need to know.
Where and when does this tournament take place?
This Legends Tour final takes place on the greens of the Legend Golf Course and the Links Golf Course at Constance Belle Mare Plage. The competition takes place from Thursday to Sunday.
What is the Legend Tour?
The Legends Tour is a competition that brings together iconic players, such as former major tournament champions, ex-world number 1s or Ryder Cup icons. This professional men's golf circuit is exclusively reserved for golfers aged 50 and over.
What is the trophy at stake?
Golf legends will compete to win the prestigious John Jacobs Trophy, awarded to the golfer at the top of the Order of Merit at the end of each season.
How long has this tournament existed?
The MCB Tour Championship is a continuation of the Seniors Tour Championship, which began in 2000 and was held in several countries (Abu Dhabi, Spain, Portugal, Bahrain and England) before moving to Mauritius in 2011.
Who are the participants?
We find Colin Montgomerie, one of the greatest golfers in history with more than 50 victories, including eight European Tour titles, Adilson da Silva, who won two major titles this season for seven victories in total, will also be the game, or even Ian Woosnam, former world number one and inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 2017, will honor the event with his presence. There is also Peter Baker, reigning champion and winner of the Legends Tour Order of Merit. On the French side, we retain the participation of Jean-François Remesy.
