The leader since the start of this week in Melbourne, Lucas Herbert stood still on this third day of competition, letting the competition return before the last day of competition. The Australian Open is now also led by the American Ryggs Johnston in -14 total. Leading Frenchman Adrien Saddier is 15th.
If ever there was a perfect postcard of a “Moving Day” in Australia, it would be this third day of competition on the Kingston Heath Golf Club which would be portrayed, as this Australian Open 2024 is undecided.

12 players are now standing in 4 moves at the dawn of the last day of competition, opening wide the doors to a suspenseful finale, like last year with an unsustainable playoff finally won by Joaquin Niemann.
The Chilean recalled the good memories of his first victory on the DP World Tour to play the card of the week on this course (64, -8) to move up 25 places in the ranking and land in 3rd position, two shots from the lead with 18 holes still to play.
Now in the crosshairs of “Joaco”, they are two in the lead at -14. Lucas Herbert of course, unbreakable leader since the first day of competition at home, but less successful on Saturday with a card in par (72), the fault in particular of a less bleeding putting.
And the second, more surprising, is called Ryggs Johnstona young 25-year-old American player and well placed to win for only his second start on the circuit, thanks to a third round completed in 68 (-4) despite a double bogey on the card.
Adrien Saddier not so far away
He is one of only two survivors of the French clan to compete over the weekend in Melbourne. Adrien Saddier take advantage of this studious start to the season to gain confidence. This Saturday he returns his best card of the week (68, -4) to move up thirteen places in the rankings and is three shots out of the top 10.
The other Frenchman qualified for the weekend had much more difficulty. Pierre Pineau played a heavy 77 (+5), the fault of a bogey-double-double disaster at the start of the game. The Vaudreuil player is 64th.
