Guest on the American online podcast “Pardon My Take”, world number 1 Scottie Scheffler looked back on his XXL 2024 season and the compensation that goes with it. Revealing in passing a small arrangement to please everyone on the financial level.

The $25 million bonus FedEx Cup paid to Scottie Scheffler a few weeks ago after he won the Tour Championship at the end of the 2024 season brought his total earnings to more than $62 million on the course.

It must be said that with seven victories, just on the PGA Tour, The Texan has gone out of his way to smash his own record from last year, surpassing it by nearly $21 million. If you add up all the big boss’s winnings, that translates to an almost obscene $12,000 for every shot he hits each year.

While the figures may be dizzying, Scheffler seems to pay little attention to them, as he said a few days ago in the American Podcast ” Pardon my Take » : « It’s been a fun year, but I don’t really think about money. It’s a big deal with FedEx and everything, but at the end of the day, I just play golf and the money is just a gift on top of all that.

So he pays limited attention to the numbers, but how does he keep track of the payments to his famous co-driver on the course, Ted Scott. Here again he responds with his signature smile: “ We have a young daughter who helps us manage the bills because I’m like a child at that and I can’t keep up with all that stuff.. She quickly took over this work and sends me a message at the end of each week to tell me : “Hey, this is how much we have to pay Ted.” I answer him : ‘That’s great. Perfect.’

In professional golf, it is customary for the winner of a tournament to generally give his caddie 10% of the money won. If he finishes in the top ten, it is 7% and 5% for the rest. It is estimated that Scott has earned $5.2 million this season.
