A brief stint at the university

Learner Tien was born in Irvine, California. His father is a lawyer and his mother is a teacher. At the age of 10, he was integrated into the development program of the American Federation, the USTA. He is trained at Tier 1 performance, an academy located in Newhope, in the same state, by Eric Diaz and Jay Levitt, also coaches of his compatriot Alex Michelsen (49th).
