A week after the death of French-speaking cinema icon Alain Delon at the age of 88, he was buried alongside his dogs on his huge property in Douchy, Loiret, according to his wishes, on August 24, 2024. During the intimate ceremony, only about forty guests were invited to say a final goodbye to the actor who died on August 18. Since then, many people have come to his home to pay tribute to him in front of the gates of his house in Douchy. This Monday, August 26, 2024, it was the turn of the famous host Matthieu Delormeau to pay his respects.

On Instagram, the 50-year-old columnist posted a photo of himself in front of the deceased’s house. Surrounded by flowers for Alain Delon, Matthieu Delormeau stands with his back to him and hides behind a cap and dark glasses. He holds in his hands a photo of the actor when he was young. In the description, he soberly wrote: “There is no deeper loneliness than that of the samurai.”A reference to the Franco-Italian film noir by Jean-Pierre Melville, The Samurai (1967), starring Alain Delon. He played a hitman, Jef Costello, and starred opposite Nathalie Delon, his wife at the time, who played his mistress, Jane Lagrange.

Alain Delon’s graves could be moved away from his Douchy property

All the last wishes of the 88-year-old actor were respected by his children: no national tribute, an intimate ceremony and to be buried on his property in Douchy with his dogs. But the latter could soon become a headache, according to information revealed by the newspaper The FigaroAugust 19, 2024, the day after Alain Delon’s death. The huge property has very high maintenance costs. Thus, the actor’s children, Anthony, Anouchka and Alain-Fabien Delon, could sell it. They could then choose to move the graves of their father and his dogs, and to install the actor in a cemetery.
