Gbamin has signed, Cozza is coming… The point a few days before the final gong

As announced by West France A week ago, Jean-Philippe Gbamin will indeed join FC Nantes. After passing his medical, the 28-year-old midfielder signed a one-season contract with the Canaries on Tuesday. Free of any contract since his departure from Dunkirk last summer, Jean-Philippe Gbamin has already played under Antoine Kombouaré at Lens.

He comes to strengthen the midfield and bring rotation. The player also has the advantage of being able to play in central defense, where Jean-Charles Castelletto is the only right-hander. Jean-Philippe Gbamin played 21 matches (2 goals and one assist) in Ligue 2 last season, under the Dunkerque jersey, after stints at Everton, Moscow and Trabzonspor.

A number 2 goalie should (normally) arrive

Another defender is due to be loaned (without an option to buy) by Wolfsburg to Nantes in the coming hours. This is Nicolas Cozza (25 years old), who had already been loaned to Nantes for the last six months of last season. The former Montpellier player is coming to compensate for Fabien Centonze’s knee injury. The player is due to arrive in Nantes on Tuesday and undergo his medical examination on Wednesday. Everything is almost tied up at the contractual level.

For sure, Nantes will recruit a number 2 goalkeeper before the end of the week, according to our information. Depending on the end of market opportunities, other recruits could arrive.

Concerning departures, Ajax has not (for the moment) returned to the charge for Alban Lafont. Clermont goalkeeper Mory Diaw, with whom FCN agrees in the event of Lafont’s departure, could very quickly turn to other options.

Nathan Zézé, England is scrutinizing him

According to The Team Mostafa Mohamed refused an offer (of 15 million euros!) from a Saudi club. Douglas Augusto still has desires to leave. A few weeks ago, he had refused to return to Brazil. Flamengo had nevertheless offered 5.5 million euros to FCN.

Also worth watching are Pedro Chirivella and especially Nathan Zézé, who is being scrutinized by many English clubs (Aston Villa, Liverpool, etc.). At at least €20 million, the Nantes management will undoubtedly be listening to the young central defender, who has had a remarkable start to the season. The transfer window closes at 11pm on Friday…
