While Muggles have devoted part of their summer to the Olympic and Paralympic Games, wizards are more likely to be passionate about the Quidditch World Cup. However, both sides will be able to find common ground (in sports) with the launch tomorrow, September 3, of Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions.
Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions is presented as a sports game that invites the player to make a career in Quidditch. You will be able to play friendly matches on the Quidditch pitch at the Burrow, at the Weasleys’, in order to familiarize yourself with the rules of this sport – slightly modified compared to those in the books, to balance the matches and make the game more fun: there are the positions of Chaser, Seeker, Beater or Keeper and the objective is to score against the opposing team to reach 100 points, but grabbing the Golden Snitch only earns 30 points without ending the game.
Things get serious, however, by accessing the championships (solo, in co-op up to three players or in PvP). Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions allows you to participate in the annual Cup which pits the four Hogwarts houses against each other (the player chooses the one they want to play for); the Triwizard Cup which pits the major magic schools of the license against each other (Hogwarts, Beauxbatons or Durmstrang) or the prestigious Quidditch World Cup where 16 nations and the most formidable teams compete.
And to win in these tournaments, players will have to accumulate experience, unlock skills or improve their equipment – the game promises a plethora of different brooms to customize. And the improvements are only done in-game, since Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions does not include microtransactions.
Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions -10% on Gamesplanet
The game will be officially available tomorrow, September 3rd in digital version, on PC and consoles – and on November 8th in physical version. The PC version of Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions (Steam key) is nevertheless already available for pre-order on the video game store Gamesplanet, with a -10% discount – the pre-order allows you to unlock the skin of the Supreme Firebolt Broom.
On Gamesplanet, two versions of the game are available: the standard version of Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions at the price of €26.99 instead of €29.99, or 10% off, which contains the base game.
