Rather than thinking about the semester with a thematic thread, as in previous years, the cultural service has chosen an annual framework: the medium “sound and podcast” will inhabit the 2024/2025 season. It will be introduced from Heritage Daysfrom September 20 to 22. In addition to the (re)discovery of works on campus usually offered by the Master’s degree in Mediation of Heritage, History and Territories (MPHT), a podcast produced by Clara Daniel, a student at master EUR CAPSwill be valued. It will tell the story of the work Alpha, Aleph, A.this white line that we unfortunately no longer notice, which goes from the Drum to go behind the swimming pool. In addition to responding to the common thread of the season, the proposal materializes the link between the university and the neighborhood, on which we are working even more this year with the neighborhood agreement signed since last year. »

The cultural activity then opens with the Equality TuesdaysTuesday, September 24. As in previous years, these will focus on issues of inequality and discrimination. We got back to basics this year “, she says. The conference “Healthy and sustainable food: for everyone” of Nicole Darmona researcher at INRAE, will address the essential subject of food insecurity. In collaboration, theassociation Pulsartwhich works on issues of Social and Solidarity Economy (SSE) through collaborative and participatory artistic projects, will set up the installation in the Tambour hall Everything Must Go: The End of the World Grocery StoreThis fake market stall aims to alert the public to the real cost of what we consume. The university’s sustainable development mission is working with us on these projects, and particularly on welcoming Pulsart.” With the idea of creating a link between the cultural activity of the campus and the student life that inhabits it, the association is invited for the first time on the occasion of this conference, but will return several times in the fall during the distributions of free groceries.

The first semester will also be punctuated by series, a new feature for the cultural service of Rennes 2. Two creations will be presented several times. The first to open the ball: Warn othersa show by and with Jonas Seradin & Ivan Aubree of Galapiat Cirque. « This is the story of the show they wanted to do, about current issues in society, but which they failed to do. “A yurt will be installed on the campus, and will also be the scene of other activities linked to the university’s training courses and associations.” It is a committed show that speaks to the militant spirit in each of us, the reflection focuses on how we can resist by doing things together. »

The immersive show Red, bitter phantasmagoria of the The Bite Companywill be presented at the PNRV, in building T, on December 3 and 4, 2024. The creation of Marie Parent et Christopher Le Chevillerboth a performance and a plastic installation, deals with improper and figurative female confinements. It is divided into two parts: a time of immersion in a plastic installation and a time where the public attends an improvised theatrical performance with a member of the audience. “It’s rare to get proposals that shake you up to this extent, in a good way. “, confides Sarah Dessaint. ” It is inspiring, moving, strong, but also very beautiful.”

In a continuing desire to promote and support the work of former students of the university, the Tambour will host the visual and sound performance/installation of Nicolas Bazoges, Spectacle_Ink October 10 and 11, 2024, in partnership with the festival now and within the framework of the Science Festival. Likewise, Luc Cotinatalias Morvandiaua visiting professor at Rennes 2 University, is invited on Thursday, November 14. On the exhibition side, an original proposal is particularly expected: within the framework of theTribute to Milan Kundera (1929-2023) (see chronicle), organized by the university, We all need someone to look at us will reveal drawings by the Czech novelist and essayist who died in 2023, a former teacher of comparative literature at Rennes 2. The exhibition will focus on the plastic dimension of the author’s work, an activity that is less well known and a choice that reflects the taste of Sarah Dessaint for the side steps. Milan Kundera started drawing when he was in Rennes, because his wife was depressed from living in a gray apartment at the Horizons. She was suffering from exile “, she says before continuing, with the same enthusiasm that made her choose the writer as the subject of her thesis, when she was a literature student. There has been a tradition among publishers of using his drawings as the covers of his books. »

Books and plates will be exhibited in order to discover this lesser-known activity and to show the importance of the author in the literary landscape of his time, and his existence in Rennes. If all goes well, one of the lecture halls will also be renamed Milan Kundera. »
