Paris: metro ticket to go back to 2.15 euros next Monday

Parisians without a Navigo pass and tourists will save themselves a little money. From Monday, September 9, metro ticket prices in the capital will return to their basic rate, RATP announced on its website, after having undergone a significant increase for the Olympic and Paralympic Games period. Sold for 4 euros during the Games, the single ticket will therefore go back to 2.15€ next week.

Regardless of the package chosen by visitors or local residents, all prices will return to normal from Monday. The book of 10 tickets, which increased to 32 euros this summer, will return to its price of 17.35 euros, while the Orlybus and Roissybus, whose price had been increased to 16 euros, will again cost 10.30 euros and 14.50 euros respectively.

Central metro stations reopen

It is also once again possible to purchase Navigo Semaine, Jour and Visite passes directly at the station or from the Bonjour RATP application. This option had been on hold since July 20 due to the Games.

The president of the Île-de-France region, Valérie Pécresse, also president of Île-de-France Mobilités, had defended these “dissuasive rates” to avoid “ticket embolism” during the Games. The elected official particularly encouraged residents of the Île-de-France region to subscribe to the Navigo Liberté + formula before this rate change, which allowed them to keep the ticket at 1.73 euros.

In addition, the Champs-Elysées-Clémenceau station (lines 1 and 13), closed for several periods between July 20 and September 8, will also fully reopen on Monday, September 9. The Concorde stations on lines 1 and 8 (stop 12 not marked) and Tuileries (line 1) will be back in use from Monday, September 2.
