This category is part of the standing handicap and did not yet exist at the Tokyo Games. Jules Ribstein first ran the triathlon among the able-bodied

Jules Ribstein has been practicing triathlon since his teenage years. He was one of the best at the time of high school. The athlete then practiced triathlon at the national level and became one of the best seniors, while he followed a STAPS training course at the university. However, a road accident put a stop to this brilliant career. At the age of 21, he was the victim of a motorcycle accident, causing the amputation of his left leg.
