Donald Trump questions the organization

The question was quite different when Joe Biden was the Democratic Party candidate. The president’s team had indeed asked, during the two debates against Donald Trump (on June 27 and September 10), that the “microphones are cut off during the debates, except for the person speaking”. An agreement that no longer seems to suit the vice-president’s team, and which was a historical exception.

Brian Fallon, communications officer for candidate Kamala Harris, explained to the press that his campaign team “believes that both candidates’ microphones should remain on for the entirety of the broadcasts.” “We understand that Donald Trump’s team officials prefer that the microphones be cut because they do not believe their candidate can act in a presidential manner for 90 minutes.”he explained.

Republicans seem to be intimidated by the prospect of a continued debate. In the eyes of Donald Trump’s campaign, the Sept. 10 debate hosted by ABC should have the same rules as the last one. That those rules were decided by Joe Biden, not Kamala Harris, is of little importance to them.

Four years ago, for the organization of a debate opposing the then outgoing president to candidate Joe Biden, it was Donald Trump’s team that criticized the possible interruption of the microphones by a person outside the two teams. The fact remains that the debate of September 10 is approaching quickly. If the question is not resolved quickly, as Politico claims, the organization of this confrontation itself remains in suspense.
