a French international victim of racist insults in Poland

French handball player from Kielce Dylan Nahi was the target of racist insults during a Polish championship match in Plock, this Sunday, October 13.

This Sunday, during the clash of the Polish handball championship between Kielce and Plock (25-29), Dylan Nahi, player of the team, denounced racist insults against him. His trainer Talant Dujshebaev confirmed the facts and said he was also affected.

“At one point, I felt that there was noise against me, but I didn’t know what people were saying,” Dylan Nahi told L’Équipe. At the end of the match, my teammates and my coach explained to me that those were racist insults. On a field, it’s the first time that this has happened to me. I find that stupid. I know not everyone is like that but there is a certain minority of people who don’t think. Now things have been escalated and I just hope it gets dealt with by the people involved. These are things that don’t have to be on a handball court and in sport in general.”

The Polish club denounces the acts

His coach in Kielce confirmed the comments of Plock supporters of racism. “At the end of the first period, the audience chanted ‘P***** de noir’ against Dylan Nahi,” he confided. “These are things that do not have to be on a handball court and in sport in general,” concluded the French international.

The Polish club Kielce published a statement denouncing these acts.
