News in the Middle East catches up with the American presidential campaign

The situation in the Middle East is closely scrutinized by the international community. The United Nations Interim Force deployed in southern Lebanon (UNIFIL) warned yesterday of a “catastrophic” regional conflict. This morning Hezbollah said it had repelled two infiltration attempts by Israeli troops near a border village in southern Lebanon. And this news is catching up with the American presidential campaign: on November 5, citizens of the United States will have to choose between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris. The two candidates are still neck and neck in the polls, in swing states, states with undecided votes, and which can change sides from one election to another. Republicans and Democrats alike are therefore trying to predict how the undecided, who are still very numerous, will vote, particularly in communities which usually lean more towards the Democratic Party.
