Jackmaster – real name Jack Revill – was obsessed with music from a young age, gaining a coveted job behind the counter in Glasgow music shop Rubadub while still a teenager.

Rising to prominence thanks to his role in Dress To Sweat, Jackmaster would go on to co-found seminal Glasgow-rooted imprint Numbers. As a DJ, he would gain worldwide prominence, including regular slots on Radio 1, with his energetic, non-pretentious approach to club culture.

CLASH followed his career from the off – we met him as a figure in Rubadud, and he later wrote for us.

This is breaking news and will be updated.
