Thursday evening, a 29-year-old man was shot and killed in Montreuil in Seine-Saint-Denis. An investigation into organized gang murder has been opened, AFP learned Friday from police sources and the Bobigny public prosecutor’s office.

Called for shots fired, the police intervened shortly after 8:30 p.m. in Montreuil, a town bordering Paris. At the scene, the man with a gunshot wound was treated by emergency services, a police source said.

Despite their intervention, he died half an hour later. According to another police source, the murder followed a fight between several people. “The criminal brigade is seized of the open investigation into the charge of murder by an organized gang”said the prosecution.
