Valérie, resident of Cubry-lès-Faverney
Still shaken, her husband Pascal describes a scene of chaos: “All the trees were horizontal, there were no more landmarks. We just said to ourselves: « provided that the windows hold, that the tiles do not come into the house.» We remained powerless, it was horror.“
The phenomenon, first described as “unexplained gust of wind“by the Haute-Saône firefighters, turns out to be a low intensity tornado.”A rain shower came into rotation“, analyzes the Météo Franc-comtoise site. The winds would have reached 130 km/h.
Although no injuries were reported, eight houses and a shed were affected. “Roofs flew away“, specifies the CODIS of Haute-Saône. In total, around thirty firefighters were mobilized until the night to cover and secure the scene.
This morning, traces of the passage of the tornado, tiles litter the streets of Cubry-lès-Faverney. It’s time to clean up and take steps with insurance companies and roofers to have damaged roofs repaired.
