Winner of the Belgian David Goffin, the American reached the semi-final of the Masters 1000.
The American Taylor Fritz (7th in the world) won without difficulty against the Belgian David Goffin (66th) 6-3, 6-4 and advances to the semi-final of the Masters 1000 in Shanghai where he could meet Novak Djokovic.
Taylor Fritz, 26, finalist of the last US Open, controlled the Belgian who had a good tournament beating Lorenzo Musetti (18th) and the world number 2, the German Alexander Zverev in the round of 16.
In the half, Fritz will play against the winner of the quarter between Novak Djokovic (4th) and the surprising 19-year-old Czech, Jakub Mensik (65th).
David Goffin, who will be on the verge of the top 50 in the ATP, was fragile on serve, with second balls that were much too soft to prevent the American from attacking him in return. The Belgian won only 35% of the points he scored with a second ball.
After winning the first set 6-3, Fritz quickly broke, then stayed ahead.
