Roc d’Azur 2024 | The new Rockrider and Decathlon products ⋆ Vojo

Let’s go to the Roc d’Azur! The unmissable show for the big end-of-season event opens its doors this morning and as usual, Rockrider did not come empty-handed. A new children’s bike, a versatile (very) accessible full-suspension bike… We take a look at the new products from the French brand:

All new, all beautiful! The Feel 700 S joins Rockrider’s Feel family, which brings together bikes geared towards riding pleasure (Race being oriented towards XC performance and Explore towards leisure rides) and offers a very tight price which immediately places it as an interesting choice for a first full-suspension: €1799. However, you will have to wait a bit to get it since it will not arrive in stores before spring 2025.

At this price, we have an aluminum frame which develops 130 mm of travel (140 mm at the front) via a suspension that is a little different from the 900 S carbon models: here, we are on a monopivot + link rather than on a 4-bar linkage like on the 900 S. Another philosophy, which could offer slightly different sensations on the ground.

The equipment is rather interesting despite the price since the bike is equipped with a RockShox Deluxe shock absorber and especially the new RockShox Psylo Gold fork (read Test | RockShox Psylo Gold RC: simple and flattering!), Sun Ringlé wheels shod with homemade tires and an astonishing Tektro 1×11 transmission. Tektro is not a name that we are used to seeing on this post but it is still the parent company of TRP, which wants to compete with Sram and Shimano on high-end transmissions so , why not ?

Another big novelty, this small electrically assisted semi-rigid for children called 26 E-Expl 900. Before entering into the debate on the existence of this type of machine, we invite you to read our article on the subject, carried out with real testers under 12 years old: The e-bike for children, a real or false good idea?

On the technical side, the 26 E-Expl 900 is based on a Mahle X30 motor in the rear wheel (45 Nm, 1.9 kg) and a 237 Wh battery, a choice made both for reasons of cost and ease of handling. hand for the youngest. The transmission is a 9-speed MicroShift Advent (11-38 cassette, 32-tooth chainring), the fork is a 100mm RockShox Judy and the Hutchinson Toro tires should offer great versatility. For the price, it will cost €1800 and Rockrider announces a weight of 16 kg. The bike will be available in spring 2025, around May.

This is not new to the Roc d’Azur but it is still recent: unveiled at the Sea Otter Europe show a few weeks ago, here is the new color of the Race 940 S of XC. A black/black that contrasts with the flashy colors of the other models and gives it a certain look!

Finally, the brand returns to its famous limited editions by presenting this superb Race 940 S LTD, with a color inspired by the bikes that accompanied the drivers of the Decathlon-Ford team to the Olympic Games this summer.

Rockshox SID and SIDLuxe Ultimate suspensions, Sram XX SL transmission, Sram Level 4-piston brakes, Darimo Carbon cockpit (a new original equipment), Zipp 1Zero Moto Hitop SW wheels, Vittoria Mezcal Race tires… A hyper-exclusive assembly which will be available in spring 2025 in just 100 copies, for a price expected between €6,500 and €7,000.
