Échirolles. He rushes towards a police officer who was patrolling behind the Carrara: a scooter rider actively wanted

A municipal police officer aged around fifty was seriously injured after being violently hit by a man riding a scooter, on the Place des Cinq Fontaines in the center of Échirolles, this Wednesday October 9 around 2 p.m.

The police officer was carrying out a patrol around Carrara

The police officer was carrying out a patrol at the rear of the Le Carrare building, reputed to be an important deal point and whose residents were recently evacuated, by decision of the town hall, as a security measure.

A particularly lucrative deal point that traffickers are trying to reinvest despite the numerous patrols and surveillance organized by both the municipal and national police to prevent them.

It was at the exit of the alley connecting the back of Carrara to the Place des Cinq Fontaines that the scooter rider allegedly deliberately ran into the municipal police officer, throwing him to the ground.

He flees, abandoning his scooter

Conscious but injured – particularly in the head – the latter was taken care of by the firefighters and taken to the Alpes University Hospital while his colleagues, quickly joined by the national police, tried to find the fugitive who had abandoned his scooter on the spot before running off.

The mayor of Échirolles, Amandine Demore, went to the site and confirmed that the life of the municipal agent was not in danger. She indicated, in a press release published in the evening that “(her) thoughts (were) first of all to the municipal police officer injured in the exercise of his duties to whom (she) brings, as well as to her loved ones, the support of the entire Échirolle community”.

And to continue: “Following the security and evacuation of Carrare on September 27, incessant pressure is exerted against drug trafficking in the town center of Échirolles with pedestrian patrols on the part of the municipal police and daily anti-trafficking actions with the national police. Faced with this heinous act, our determination to maintain public safety remains completely intact.”
