Disappearance of Owen in Rouen: nightclub evening, profile of the young man, open investigation… what we know about the facts

Owen, 19, has not given any sign of life since the night of Saturday October 5 to Sunday October 6. The young man mysteriously disappeared after leaving a nightclub located on the quays of the right bank of Rouen (Seine-Maritime).

An evening at a nightclub

The evening of his disappearance, Owen had spent the evening with friends at a nightclub, as reported by Paris-Normandie and several local media. After leaving the establishment a little before 4 a.m., the young man did not give any further news to his loved ones. Moreover, according to France Bleu who interviewed Owen’s mother, the latter left the night establishment earlier than his friends because he had a match the next day.

Owen’s mother also said she last spoke to her son on the phone at 12:30 a.m., just before he went to the nightclub. According to his family, the young man never ran away and had no worries of this type.

Owen “had been drinking” but was not drunk

As we noted this Monday, Owen was filmed by the establishment’s surveillance cameras as he left the premises at precisely 3:57 a.m. “His AirPods stopped one last time,” the young man’s uncle told 76Actu. “His phone already ran out of battery 20 minutes before it left the box.” The latter also claims that Owen “had been drinking” that evening but that he was not drunk when he left the establishment. The young man was filmed walking on the quays.

An open investigation

The police opened an investigation into the young man’s disappearance and at the same time, a wanted notice was published by Owen’s relatives on Facebook.

According to the description of this call, the 1m80 young man was wearing a white linen shirt, white pants and white and black sneakers. A resident of Petit-Quevilly, Owen is an apprentice mason with the Compagnons du Devoir and plays football in Saint-Jacques-sur-Darnétal, again according to France Bleu.
