“Monsieur Aznavour”: the opinion of Charles Aznavour’s children on the biopic

Mischa and Katia Aznavour, two of Charles Aznavour’s children, did not hesitate to give their opinion concerning the biopic dedicated to their father and the performance of Tahar Rahim.

On October 23, “Monsieur Aznavour” will be screened in cinemas. A moving and musical biopic, directed by Grand Corps Malade and Mehdi Idir, brilliantly led by Tahar Rahim in the singer’s costume. But a few days before its cinema release, what did the heirs of the artist (who died on October 1, 2018) think?

Questioned by BFMTV, Mischa Aznavour, Charles’ son, admitted to having cried when discovering the biopic. “It’s moving (…) I had a watery eye more than once. » Then he adds: “Tahar was acclaimed by all of us. We really, really love him. He really got into the role. He did incredible work worthy of an award, a César or I don’t know what…”.

Katia Aznavour, the singer’s daughter, was also very touched by the feature film. “At the end of the first week, when (she) told us “I see my father”, (…) it gave us extraordinary confidence”, explained Tahar Rahim to BFMTV, this Saturday October 5, during the Cinéroman Festival in , where “Monsieur Aznavour” was presented. The latter was approved by the whole family to play their late father. A validation of “capital importance” for the actor.

In “Monsieur Aznavour”, Tahar Rahim plays opposite Victor Meutelet (Johnny Hallyday), Marie-Julie Baup (Édith Piaf), Bastien Bouillon (Pierre Roche) and even Lionel Cecilio (Gilbert Becaud) and Rupert Wynne-James (Frank Sinatra). ). The film traces the journey and rise of Charles Aznavour in the 1940s.
