Two men died in a fire in an apartment in Saint-Dié-des-Vosges on Saturday evening, report our colleagues from Vosges Morning. The two victims were aged 59 and 49.

Two people, a 41-year-old woman and a 14-year-old boy, were taken to hospital after suffering from smoke inhalation. A firefighter was also slightly injured, “burned on the shoulders”, according to Vosges Morning. The disaster led to the evacuation of 19 people. “A dog also perished in the flames,” specifies the local newspaper.
Origin unknown
The fire, the origin of which is not known, broke out around 7:30 p.m. on the third floor of a building which has four floors, said the Departmental Fire and Rescue Operations Center (Codis). An investigation to determine the origin of the fire was entrusted to the police.
