Véronique Sanson sells out at the Tube in Seignosse

Black glasses on his nose, electric guitar in his hand. Véronique Sanson took to the stage of the Tube, in Seignosse, with velvet steps, this Friday, October 4. Seemingly nothing, under the applause of the 2,200 spectators who came to listen to one of the last monuments of French song, the artist started her show – accompanied by ten musicians – with the very rock “On m’attendait là-bas” “.

The blonde figure, who seemed almost vulnerable upon her entrance – the artist is still 75 years old – turned the stage upside down by masterfully performing her biggest songs: “I missed myself so much”, “Amoureuse”, “Une nuit on his shoulder”, “Song about my funny life”, “Vancouver”… So much so that the audience, seated during the first two or three pieces of music, quickly abandoned their chairs to follow the concert standing, in a beautiful communion.

“You have a beautiful country here. Who I know a little bit about. My father (1) was a friend of the mayor of Capbreton, Bernard Lesgourgues (2) whom he had known in the camps,” she confided half-heartedly. After two hours, alone with her audience, the artist continued the pleasure by performing a few additional melodies on her white piano. The audience was able to resume with her “Bahia”, “Visitor and traveler” before “bowing out”. It was beautiful. We ask for more.

(1) Resistance fighter René Sanson was also a Gaullist deputy from 1958 to 1967.

(2) He was mayor from 1947 to 1971.
