A murder investigation was opened after the discovery of the lifeless body of a 40-year-old woman on Tuesday evening in Aubervilliers (Seine-Saint-Denis). It was almost 11 p.m. when the victim, of Cameroonian origin, was found naked in an apartment on rue Solférino, near Porte de la Villette. The accommodation would be used for prostitution activities.
This woman would live in Paris. She showed signs of strangulation and significant blows to the head, according to an initial police report.
It was an acquaintance of the victim who notified the emergency services. She said she was very worried about not having news from her friend at the end of the day. Earlier in the afternoon, a neighbor of the apartment where the body was discovered also called the police to report the screams of a woman being attacked. But the police, according to a police source cited by AFP, left the scene without finding a victim.
No arrests took place at this stage, according to the Bobigny public prosecutor’s office. The investigation into the circumstances of this murder was entrusted to the criminal brigade of the Paris judicial police.
“Deeply horrified by the crime that occurred in our city,” Aubervilliers Mayor Karine Franclet (UDI) reacted on Twitter in the evening. This event affects us all and raises many questions. I express all my support to the family and loved ones of the victim in this ordeal. »
On August 13, a prostitute of Chinese origin was also found dead, killed in her home in the 11th arrondissement of Paris. A suspect, a client of the victim, was arrested a few days later before confessing.
