when pro-Palestinian students rewrite October 7

A year after the terrorist attack against Israel, pro-Palestinian student groups are bubbling up in universities and seem to be trivializing a very complacent discourse vis-à-vis Hamas. Reporting.

A few minutes before the 6 p.m. bell, this Wednesday, October 2, in front of the B014 amphitheater of the Sorbonne-Nouvelle University, two students detail the feats of arms of the Palestine 3 Committee to a third young woman, who came to attend their meeting for the first time. “There is already a genocide in Gazanow it’s in Lebanon, it’s too important”laments one of the organizers who adjusts the red barrettes attached to her scarf.

For the occasion, the Director General of Services (DGS) and the chief of staff of the president of the university made the trip. Both know that this gathering could cause disruption, particularly in the run-up to the October 7 commemorations, marking the Hamas terrorist attacks against Israel. They won’t be disappointed.

At 6:10 p.m., around twenty students have already taken their places in front of the board where a Palestinian flag has just been hung. At the back of the room, older teachers have taken their seats. “It is possible to stop filming, you do not have the right, there is a right to the image”, a student immediately says angrily towards the teachers, some of whom took out their smartphones to try to film the meeting. If they agree to turn off their device after a reminder from management, the meeting is still about to go into a tailspin.
