a senator mocks the former NFP candidate in front of Michel Barnier

Senator Claude Malhuret made fun of Lucie Castets, candidate of the New Popular Front in Matignon, in front of Prime Minister Michel Barnier, even going so far as to imagine a hypothetical government set up by the left alliance.

A dig which did not make part of the Hemicycle laugh. This Wednesday, following the general policy declaration delivered, once again, by Michel Barnier, Senator Claude Malhuret made ironic remarks about the non-appointment of Lucie Castets to Matignon.

“I had a terrible nightmare last night, Mr Prime Minister. I was here today, at this stand, and in front of me, in the place where you are, it was not you… It was Lucie Castets,” he said from the stand.

“Sandrine Rousseau Minister of Finance and Degrowth”

Continuing his speech, Claude Malhuret, president of the Independents, Republic and Territories group in the Senate, had fun placing certain members of the New Popular Front in a possible government.

“Sandrine Rousseau, Minister of Finance and Degrowth, Sophia Chikirou, Minister of Justice, Sébastien Delogu, Minister of Memory and Veterans”, or even “Louis Boyard, Minister of Sustainable Development and Cannabis, and Jean-Luc Mélenchon, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Friendship with Russia, Hezbollah and the Bolivarian Alliance.
