Sunday, September 29 in the morning, a 17-year-old young man was stabbed to death at the Octavia exit, a nightclub located in Subles (). The manager of the establishment expressed his dismay and told BFM Normandie about the intervention of his teams.

A drama at the gates of his nightclub. Sunday morning, a 17-year-old young man died in front of the Octavia, in Subles (Calvados), after being stabbed. Charlie Madeleine, manager of the establishment located near Bayeux, is still in shock.

“Everything happened in a fraction of a second. He was stabbed, right at the end, behind the bus,” he tells BFM Normandie, pointing to the vehicle parked in the nightclub parking lot. .

In the early morning, Kylian, a 17-year-old teenager, was leaving the nightclub when he was stabbed by another young man.

“We arrived very quickly on the scene, equipped with a defibrillator. We did everything we could, but unfortunately it was too late” continues the manager, very affected by the tragedy.

“He had the knife”

Security officers from his establishment intervened quickly. “Our agents were able to intercept the individual who had done this. Our agents were able to arrest him at the end, at the barrier. He had fled, he had the knife,” recalls Charlie Madeleine.

The security agents immediately “called the police to come and collect him”. On Sunday, the public prosecutor confirmed the arrest of a suspect, aged around twenty.

After this tragedy, the nightclub owner expressed his dismay.

“If I do this job, it’s not to see a tragedy like this happen. Today, we are all affected” Charlie Madeleine is moved, adding that some will keep this “trauma” “for life”.

The manager emphasizes the “safety” of customers. “The Octavia is one of the only nightclubs where pat-downs are carried out as well as checks for objects and metals. Without that, I would never open an establishment.” He recognizes that the tragedy could very well have happened “anywhere”.

A white march for the victim

The circumstances of the attack have not at this stage been clarified by the Caen public prosecutor’s office. With Ouest-, Charlie Madeleine specifies that a “fight broke out” while the last customers were heading towards their cars. The arrested individual was taken into custody on Sunday morning.

The Saint-Lois Boxing club, in which the victim was licensed, announced a white march this Wednesday, October 2, in memory of Kylian.
