What awaits you at the Clermont-Ferrand Livestock Summit, from October 1 to 4

The 33rd Livestock Summit returns from Tuesday October 1 to Friday October 4 at the Grande Halle d’Auvergne. Here are some of the highlights that will mark these four days.

Numbers

More than 1,700 exhibitors, including 300 international, and 120,000 visitors are expected. 1,600 animals will be present. 70 breeds of cattle, sheep, goats and horses will participate in competitions, presentations and equipment demonstrations. 140 conferences and symposia are scheduled.

Two competitions

The Salers race returns to the Zénith d’Auvergne for its national. 400 animals and 121 breedings are expected. The competition will be held over four half-days, with a highlight: the male and female championships on Thursday. Twenty honorary prizes will be awarded. An auction will close these four days on Friday.

Among dairy cattle, the Euro-simmental, a European competition organized every two years at the Summit, is back on Tuesday, from 2:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. 46 French cows, 5 German and 5 Austrian cows are expected.

  • the international livestock evening on Wednesday, from 6 p.m.;
