Your book begins with a chapter devoted to anxiety of global warming . The ecological argument is, in fact, brandished by the “No Kids” movement. Is this anxiety real or is it above all a matter of dressing up the child’s non-desire with good conscience? ?
We need to go back to the origins of the “No Kids” movement. It was founded in 2010 by Lisa Hymas, under the name Gink – for Green Inclination, No Kids. His slogan: “If you love children, don’t give birth to them, they’re trash.” » I interviewed its founder, who lives in Seattle, via screens. She uncompromisingly told me that she used the ecological issue to advance “childfree” demands in the American public debate. A virtuous argument which would have made it easier to accept one’s choice not to father children.
